  • Memorial "Eternal Flame" in Paris - this is one of the most memorable memorials of the city dedicated to the unknown soldier. Gregoire Calvet in 1921 proposed a monument to equip a gas burner to light it at night. The fire in the memorial was set two years after its opening, after which was lit near the Arc de Triomphe, where burns to this day.

    According to some reports there are buried remains of an unknown soldier who died in the battles of the First World War. Around Memorial decorate bouquets of fresh flowers that regularly lay here veterans. Surrounding area is lined with antique tiles, adding to the attractiveness of the memorial.
