  • Berlin University of the Arts named Eisler - Conservatory in Berlin, Germany. Was founded and opened for classes in 1950 the Ministry of Education of the GDR. Bears the name of Hans Eisler, German composer and member of the German Academy of Arts.    

    Reasons for the formation of a new conservatory was that existed at the time higher education institutions in Berlin were concentrated in the western part. Hans Eisler taught at the school from 1950 until his death (1964). The school was named after him posthumously.   

    In 1953, the Berlin University of the Arts named Eisler opened branch directing musical theater in 1965 - Special Music School, which since 1991 is a high school named after Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. In 2005, together with Berlin University of Arts, Berlin School of Music named Eisler Berlin founded the Institute of Jazz.
